Using a professionally run intervention leaves little to chance. As you are probably already aware, dealing with an alcoholic can be chaotic and unpredictable. An intervention specialist will assist your team to navigate through the impulsive and erratic possibilities that can face an intervention and keep the process on track towards its goal: getting the alcoholic to treatment.
Another benefit of using an independent party is that the addict has no history with this person. Individuals suffering from substance abuse know how to manipulate and they do this to the people close to them. Having an intervention specialist will keep the addict in check and, in a sense off, their guard. The old arguments and defenses that have been used on friends and family will fall short with a professional present. In fact, the arguments may not even be brought up because the table have been turned on them.
They know you mean business!
Bringing a sense of professionalism into the setting will greatly improve results and give the addict less of an opportunity to say no.
